Sonora, TX

Isaac Leal III (Chapo), born August 19, 1972, left this world peacefully on January 25, 2026, but the love and light he shared will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

Chapo was a rare soul whose life was defined not only by his accomplishments, but by the boundless love he gave so freely. His laughter was a melody that lifted spirits, and his jokes brought joy to every room he entered. As a grandfather, he was a gentle guardian whose warmth and kindness wrapped around his grandchildren like a tender embrace. To his beloved wife, Jennifer, he was more than a partner—he was her soulmate, her rock, and her greatest love. As a father, he gave everything—his time, his wisdom, and his heart—shaping a family bound together by love and strength.

He is cherished and deeply missed by his wife of almost 20 years, Jennifer; his children Meghan Hernandez and Whitly Alvarez; his son-in-law Junior Alvarez; Melory Galindo and Matthew Galindo; and his beloved grandchildren Grace, Patelyn, Mark, Matthew Jr., Kolton, and Jaren. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Isaac Leal Jr. and Martha Leal; his brother, Steven Leal; his in-laws, Dale and Linda Tankersley; and countless family members and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Chapo shared a special and meaningful bond with his son-in-law, Junior, and his father-in-law, Dale, relationships rooted in mutual respect, loyalty, and genuine affection. He also found constant companionship and joy in his beloved canine companion, Meatball, who was rarely far from his side and held a special place in his heart

Now reunited with the grandparents who lovingly helped raise him, may Isaac (Chapo) rest in a place of peace and eternal love. Though his physical presence is gone, the warmth of his spirit, the sound of his laughter, and the depth of his love will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.

A graveside memorial will be held soon. A quiet moment to honor a life so beautifully lived and a soul so deeply treasured. Chapo’s legacy of love will never fade; it will live on in every smile, every memory, and every heart he touched.

“So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy ~ John 16:22
