“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
James Ethan Nolen Wolfe, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on December 13, 2025, in Eldorado, Texas. He was born on March 29, 2004, in Lubbock, Texas, to Deanna Paige Nolen. He was adopted by Leigh Nolen Wolfe and Jeffrey Allan Wolfe as his loving parents, and was truly a special gift from God to them both.
Ethan was a beautiful, bright spirit - so full of life and energy. From a young age, he naturally gravitated to all forms of outdoor activity. He was a passionate fisherman, avid hunter, talented snow skier, and he loved all water sports, especially skiing and wakeboarding. A water baby at heart, Ethan’s free time was often spent on the river or lake where he felt most at home.
Ethan was actively engaged in many forms of sports throughout his life. He was a running back in football, his true love. He also participated in soccer, baseball, basketball, track, and golf - anything that involved competing and bonding with his brothers. He even tried Lacrosse for about five minutes. Regardless of what he was attempting, he was a devoted teammate, dedicated to working hard and giving his best.
Ethan’s favorite subject in high school was Ag. He loved welding and woodworking, and created multiple pieces of furniture and art for friends and family. His enthusiasm for all types of machinery and welding showcased his adventurous spirit and willingness to learn, traits that served him well throughout his life. He graduated from Burnet High School in 2022, where he left a lasting impression on his peers and coaches alike.
After high school, Ethan attended Tarleton State University, where he studied Construction Science. His passion for fishing continued to thrive as a member of the university's fishing team. He embraced college life with the same enthusiasm that characterized his teenage years, making many new friends and memories. He was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity, which was his favorite part of his experience at Tarleton State.
Professionally, Ethan was given a golden opportunity to fast-track his career in construction when he was offered a position as a Labor Foreman with Skanska USA in Houston, Texas. He left college after his freshman year and moved to Houston by himself, at the age of 19, and became the youngest member of the SKANSKA operation there. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in his efforts, as he was promoted this year to Field Engineer. Ethan loved his job and most especially, he loved the men with whom he worked.
Ethan is survived by his mother, Leigh Nolen Wolfe; his father, Jeffrey Allan Wolfe; his birth mother, Deanna Paige Nolen; his grandparents, John R. Nolen, Linda Nolen, Luanne Nolen, Curt Wolfe, and Sharon Wolfe; and his siblings, Chance Wolfe, Grace Wolfe, and Hunter Wood. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Monte Nolen, and grandmother, Nancy Wolfe.
The visitation to honor Ethan will take place on December 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Burnet, Texas. A funeral service will be held on December 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Burnet First Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas, at 4:00 PM.
James Ethan Nolen Wolfe will be remembered for his infectious smile, adventurous spirit, but most importantly for the selfless love he shared with those around him. He has left a profound impact on the lives of many and will be deeply missed. He was our Sunshine.
