Jean Clark Humphreys

Jean was born on July 15, 1930 in Kinney County Texas to Albert A Clark and Maude Jenkins Clark. She was raised on ranches in southwest Texas until the family moved to Valentine so that the kids could get adequate schooling. She thrived in school there and graduated as the valedictorian. She then moved down the road to Alpine to study at Sul Ross Teachers College. There she met a cowboy who had come to Alpine to party. She married Vernon on July 17 1949 and was married to him for 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her father Albert Clark and her mother Maude Clark, her husband Vernon Humphreys, sisters Nola Minica and Goldie Pruitt, her brothers Tucker Clark and John Clark, and two grandsons Kerry Humphreys and Tye Humphreys.

She is survived by her sisters Jimi Harr and Reba Wilborn and a brother Doug Clark. She is also survived by her four sons, Bobby Humphreys and spouse Gina, Horace Humphreys, Johnny Humphreys, and Louis Humphreys and spouse Tara.

Her grand kids are Katrina Humphreys, Erin Humphreys, Zach Watters, and Trace Humphreys.

She also had four great grandchildren Kaylee Fiveash, James Fiveash, Saidee Humphreys, Sydnee Humphreys, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and funeral are scheduled for Thursday April 30 at First Baptist Church in Sonora at 10:00 AM for visitation and 11:00 AM for the funeral.
