With deep respect and heartfelt remembrance, we honor the life of Manuel Perez Lopez, who passed away on July 20, 2026, in Sonora, Texas, at the age of 66. Born on May 7, 1960, Manuel’s journey was marked by unwavering dedication to his family and community, and an enduring legacy of kindness and hard work.
Throughout his sixty-six years, Manuel remained a central figure in the lives of all who knew him. He was the beloved husband of Lydia, whose partnership was a testament to mutual devotion and strength. His children, Emmanuel and Lorena, brought him immense pride, while his daughter-in-law Jessica became family in every sense of the word. As a grandfather, Manuel’s generous spirit lived on in his granddaughters Emmie, Carmen, and Joanna, each of whom cherished his wisdom, gentle humor, and loving presence.
Manuel leaves behind his mother, Esperanza Lopez, who guided him with love and integrity throughout his life. He shared close bonds with his siblings: his brother Cesar and Elodia Lopez, and his sisters Cristela Lopez and David Saldana, Clarisa and Noe Cadena, and Cordilia Lopez, as well as his sisters and brothers-in-law, Erma and Ronald Pincince, Margarita and Eduardo Lopez and Carmen and Jesse Vela, and many loved nieces and nephews. Manuel’s deep familial roots were the foundation upon which he built a life of respect and service.
In addition to the many loved ones who survive him, Manuel was preceded in death by his father Evelio Lopez, and his brothers Lencho Lopez and Roy Lopez, along with his mother and father-in-law, Manuela and Victor San Miguel, and brother-in-law Jose A San Miguel. Their memories, like his, will be held dear within the hearts of the Lopez family.
Manuel’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, yet his values, traditions, and stories will be a source of strength and comfort to those who live on. His warmth, compassion, and steadfastness were hallmarks of his character and will forever inspire his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation to be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harper-Welch Funeral Home in Sonora, Texas.
