Marinell Roach Swope

Marinell passed away on January 28, 2026 in Richardson, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed time with her family and friends. She was born in Eldorado, TX and spent most of her youth on her much-loved family ranch. She and husband Lee Roy were long time members of the San Antonio V8 Ford club and traveled to many car shows with their antique cars. Marinell and her best friend enjoyed participating in fashion shows modelling the styles for the 1940’s representing the era of these vehicles.

Marinell had a lighthearted competitive nature and loved playing friends and family in games like dominoes, poker, and basically any card games. She enjoyed hosting gatherings, especially when it was her night hosting her Bunco club.

Marinell is survived by her step-daughter and son-in-law Kassie & Paul Hawkins, granddaughter Holly Hawkins, and grandson Jacob Hawkins; niece and nephew Jill Barringer (Gerald), and Michael Howard, and many loved extended family members. Marinell was preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy Swope Jr., father Eldred Byron Roach, mother Ruth Little Roach, and sister Gail Roach Howard.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel at 2:00pm.
