Patricia Ann Alexander Leonard went to be with her eternal savior the morning of February 4, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born to Joseph Berlin “J.B.” Alexander and Louise Brown Alexander in San Angelo, Texas on October 22, 1935. She was raised alongside her two sisters and best friends, Shearley Forrest and Jo Lou Foster, in Del Rio, Texas, where she later graduated from Del Rio High School in 1954. On November 23, 1955, she married the love of her life, James Lee Leonard, and together, they moved to the Leonard Ranch. Soon after, they welcomed sons, Gary Leonard and James Randall “Randy” Leonard. Patricia and James Lee were lovingly married for 61 years.
Patricia spent her life with a smile on her face and a fervent passion for the Lord. She was confident, loving, empathetic, strong, fiercely loyal, had a great sense of humor, and was a dear friend to all. Throughout her life, Patricia wore many hats, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, a great cook, Bible study leader, friend; however, her favorite title was “Memaw”. Her family, friends, and the church were her life and brought her true joy. Patricia never missed an opportunity to brag on her family or share a kind word with another. Patricia was unapologetically herself and was a true witness to Christ’s love for us.
Patricia is survived by her son, Gary Leonard and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Craig and Tyler Leonard, Savannah and Brett Chambers, and Zachary Leonard; great grandchildren, Lee, Landon, Cole, and Claire Chambers; sister, Shearley Forrest and her husband Tom Forrest, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Louise Alexander; husband, James Lee Leonard; sister, Jo Lou Foster and brother-in-law, B.T. Foster, and son, Randy Leonard.
A burial service will be held at 10 AM on February 6th, 2026, at the Leonard Ranch Cemetery; followed by a memorial service at 2 PM, at First Baptist Church Sonora, Texas, 111 East Oak Street, Sonora, Texas 76950.
The family would like to thank Dr. Will Griffin, the nurses and staff at Lillian M. Hudspeth Memorial Hospital and Shannon Memorial Hospital for their attention and care, and her pastor Matt Killough. Memorials can be sent to First Baptist Church Sonora.
