Reynaldo H. Perez, our beloved Apa, of Sonora, Texas, went to be with our lord on May 5, 2026, at the ag of 92. He was born on September 7, 1933, in El Oregano, Coahuila, Mexico, to Manuel Perez and Petra H Perez. He built a life defined by hard work, resilience, and deep devotion to those he loved. Reynaldo married the love of his life, Olivia R Perez, on May 23, 1958. Together they shared a beautiful marriage of 67 years and raised six children, creating a strong and loving family that remains his greatest legacy.
Reynaldo will be remembered for his warm heart, his kindness, his wonderful sense of humor, and his love for the Dallas Cowboys and the Sonora Broncos football team. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. He was a deeply loving man who put his family above all else. Always showing up with are, support, and quiet strength. He found happiness in being surrounded by his family, and his greatest pride was the life he built with them. To know him was to feel loved. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Reynaldo is survived by his wife, Olivia Perez; children Hilda Galvan (Juan Galvan), Eloisa Hernandez (Isabel Hernandez Jr), Patricia Villanueva (Lino Villanueva Jr), Veronica Hernandez (Refugio Hernandez), Jesus Perez (Belinda Perez), Ilene Santana (Mauro Santana); grandchildren, Mary Gail Ventura (Dennis Ventura), John Galvan (Erika Galvan), Sergio Hernandez (Melissa Hernandez), Kristina Hernandez (Kiarash Derakhti), Reggie Hernandez (Laura Hernandez), Jennifer Espinosa (Richard Espinosa), Paula Solis (Mikey Solis), Lino Villanueva IV (Lisette Villanueva), Cesia Hernandez, Cassandra Torres, Ivana Perez (Brayan Avila), Mauro Santana Jr (Litzy Salinas); great-grandchildren, Jordan Gandar, Richard Espinosa Jr, Brianna Espinosa, Abby Solis, Madelyn Hernandez, Lucas Hernandez, Avianna Perez, Aaliyah Solis, Emma Espinosa, Max Hernandez, Camila Galvan; great-great-grandchild Jenavieve Aguilar, sisters, Mariana Rivas, Herminia Beltran, and Linda Duenes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Perez and Petra H Perez, and siblings, Eva, Arnulfo, Reyes, Feliciano, Victor, and Alicia. His family would like to extend appreciation to Melva Vallejo, Vero Martinez, Juan Reyes, and the numerous friends and extended family members for their love, care, and support. We are deeply grateful to those who helped care for him and brought him comfort.
Visitation will be at Harper-Welch Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday, May 6th -7th from 10 am - 7pm. Funeral services will be at St Ann's Catholic Church in Sonora, TX at 10 AM on May 8th with graveside to follow at Sonora cemetery.
