Sherry Puckitt Cauthorn

August 22, 1945 — September 24, 2026

Sherry Puckitt Cauthorn, 81, was born August 22, 1945, in San Angelo Tx, to L.W. & Sadie Weddell Puckitt. She passed away peacefully on Sept 24, 2026 at Brayden Park Assisted Living in San Angelo Tx surrounded by her family and her best friend and faithful dog Gypsy.

Sherry graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1962 and continued her education at TCU where she was a member of Tri-Delt Sorority. She later attended Texas Tech where she continued her involvement with Tri-Delt Sorority.

In 1965, Sherry met and married the love of her life, Dan Cauthorn. They made their home at the family ranch in Sonora Texas. Sherry and Dan shared 46 years of marriage together until Dan’s death in 2011. Together they raised four daughters, Candy, Courtney, Camille, and Cenisa. Affectionately known as the four C’s.

Sherry was beautiful and larger than life. She had a unique style, spoke her mind and was known for her big Texas hair. Those who knew and loved her knew there was never anyone quite like Sherry.

Sherry loved being a grandmother and treasured her four grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma, and her four great-grandchildren who called her GaGa.

Sherry shared a life of Love, Family and Faith, and service to others. She and Dan came into AA together on November 18, 1975.

Sherry and Dan along with Raymond and Faye Cooper were charter members of the Midtown AA Group in San Angelo Tx. In 1978 Dan and Sherry along with Sammie Espy, Ben Epps started the Sutton County AA group in Sonora.

Dan and Sherry were honored to speak at AA conferences throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. All of this was made possible through the grace of God and the free gift of sobriety.

Sherry had just received her 50 year chip in 2025 and was 51 years sober at the time of her death.

Sherry served on the board of Sherwood AA group and the Women and Children’s Halfway House in San Angelo Tx.

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the road of happy destiny. May God Bless you and keep you until then.
